The winner for the Kissses for the Biltmore Contest, is Virginia Lamboley, from Clearwater with a winning guess of 424. The correct number of kisses in the glass vase was 432, and Mrs. Lamboley's guess of 424 was only eight candy kisses short of the correct number!
What is astounding is that Mrs. Lamboley chose her 424 winning number because it was the date she was married to her husband Lyle on April 24, 2005 (4/24/05) and then they honeymooned at the Belleview Biltmore Hotel that night! She said that the Biltmore hotel staff upgraded their double occupancy room to the bridal suite free of charge for their stay at the hotel! Now that is true hospitality and customer service from the White Queen of the Gulf! So her ten-year wedding anniversary is coming up in just a few months! She choose to receive her first place prize of all 432 yummy Hershey candy kisses, a small box of chocolates, heart sayings candy and a 2015 Biltmore calendar and bookmark over a $25 gift certificate, a second choice.
Mrs. Lamboley also has played Christmas Music at the Biltmore every Christmas Season with all her violin students!
There were five runner up winners in the Kisses for the Biltmore Contest, Kurt Debban, Andrea Schleicher, Todd Ramquist, Noreen Kenny and Lynn Harrell, and they will also receive prizes in the mail.
All funds collected in the Kisses for the Biltmore Contest will be used towards the costs and expenses of the lawsuit Save the Biltmore Preservationists filed January 7, 2015 against the town of Belleair because they violated and broke their major law, the Comprehensive Plan. The nonprofit organization is trying to stop the demolition of the historic 1897 Belleview Biltmore Hotel in Belleair, Florida. To help them, donations are being accepted at http://www.SaveTheBiltmore.com
